(Formerly MOS 82C) A
Field Artillery Surveyor is a member of
the Army's Field Artillery Team. Artillery
are weapons that fire large ammunition
or missiles to support infantry and tank
units in combat. The field artillery surveyor
leads, supervises, or serves as a member
in field artillery survey operations.

Duties:

Providing firing position data

Recording field data

Preparing schematic sketches and
marketing survey stations

Performing astronomic observations

Computing data in order to obtain
unknown required field data

Performing preventive maintenance
checks and services on vehicles, radios,
weapons and all survey equipment
Training:

Nine weeks of basic training

Eight weeks of Advanced Individual
Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma (Part
of this time is spent in a classroom
and part in the field under simulated
combat)
