A Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS)
Crewmember is part of a MLRS team and
supports infantry and tank units while
supplementing cannon artillery in combat,
The MLRS launches various missiles and
ammunition in quick strikes during combat.
The multiple launch rocket system crewmember
supervises or serves as a member of an
multiple launch rocket system crew or
section.
Requirements:

A minimum score of 105 in aptitude
area OF

A physical demands rating of moderately
heavy (Be able to lift on an occasional
basis a maximum of 80 pounds with
frequent or constant lifting of 40
pounds)

Color discrimination of red/green
-
A security clearance of SECRET
-
U.S. Citizenship
Duties:
-
Drive self-propelled MLRS launcher
and resupply vehicles
-
Perform maintenance on MLRS launcher
and resupply vehicles
-
Reload ammunition on launcher and
resupply vehicles
-
Test and maintain the fire control
system as needed
-
Mount radio sets and communication
systems in all MLRS vehicles
Training:
-
Nine weeks of basic training
-
Seven weeks one day of Advanced Individual
Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Part
of this time is spent in a classroom
and part in the field under simulated
combat.
