14T PATRIOT Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer CF:100
  Enlisted/Officer/Active Duty/Army Reserve Closed to women

A PATRIOT Launching Station Enhanced Operator is part of the Army's air defense artillery team. The Patriot missile system teams launch advanced-technology ammunition capable of destroying multiple air targets. The Patriot missile system consists of a control station, power plant, communications relay group and as many as eight launching stations. The PATRIOT launching station enhanced operator/maintainer supervises or serves as a member of a PATRIOT Air Defense weapons system or as a member of an Air Defense activity engaged in operations, intelligence or liaison functions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum score of 100 in aptitude area CF

  • A physical demands rating of moderately heavy (be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 80 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds)

  • Normal color vision

  • A security clearance of SECRET

  • Normal color vision

  • Minimum height of 64 inches

  • A Security Clearance of SECRET

  • Formal training (completion of MOS 14T course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army ADA School) mandatory

  • Be a U.S. Citizen

Duties:

  • Placing the Patriot launching system in the field

  • Supplying launching station with Patriot missiles

  • Operating specific Patriot launcher electronic systems

  • Performing preventative maintenance on Patriot launching stations

  • Handling Patriot ammunition



Training:

  • Nine weeks of basic training

  • 11 weeks of training at Fort Bliss, Texas. (Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions)
