MOS ARMY JOB TITLE Minimum ASVAB Line Scores
15R AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer MM: 100
  Enlisted/Officer/Active Duty/Army Reserve  

(The Army recently restructured this MOS from 67R to 15R) As a AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer you will be supervising and performing maintenance on AH-64 Attack Helicopters (also known as 'Apache' helicopters). The AH-64 attack helicopter repairer supervises and performs maintenance on AH-64 attack helicopters, excluding repair of systems components.

Requirements:

  • A minimum score of 100 in aptitude area MM

  • .A physical demands rating of moderately heavy (be able to lift on an occasional basic over 80 pounds with frequent or constant lifting in excess of 40 pounds)

  • Normal color vision

  • Be able to meet Army Class 2A medical fitness standards for flying as prescribed in AR 40-501

  • Formal training (completion of a resident MOS 67R course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Aviation School) mandatory. Waiver fur formal training criteria must be submitted to Cdr, USAAVNC, A1TN: ATZQ-AP, Ft Rucker, AL 36362 for approval

  • Alcohol and drug abuse as defined below will disqualify any soldier or potential enlistee from this MOS

Duties:

  • Removing and installing aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components

  • Servicing and lubricating aircraft and subsystems

  • Preparing aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks

  • Performing scheduled inspections and assisting in performing special inspections

  • Inspecting and repairing aircraft wings, fuselages and tail assemblies

  • Servicing and repairing aircraft landing gear

  • Repairing or replacing starters, lights, batteries, wiring and other electrical parts

Training:

  • Nine weeks of basic training

  • 14 to 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Eustis, Virginia, including inspection and repair of aircraft engines and equipment (Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions)
