UH-60 Helicopter Repairer (15T)
MM:105
  Enlisted/Officer/Active Duty/Army Reserve  

The UH-60 helicopter repairer supervises and performs maintenance on UH-60 helicopters, excluding repair of systems components.

Requirements:

  • A minimum score of 105 in aptitude area EL and 100 in the aptitude area MM

  • .A physical demands rating of very heavy (be able to lift on an occasional basic over 100 pounds with frequent or constant lifting in excess of 50 pounds)

  • Normal color vision

  • Formal training (completion of a resident MOS 15T course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Aviation School) mandatory or meet the ACASP criteria in AR 601-210. Waiver for formal training or ACASP criteria must be submitted to Cdr, USAAVNC, ATTN: ATZQ-AP, Ft Rucker, AL 36362 for approval.

  • Alcohol and drug abuse as defined below will disqualify any soldier or potential enlistee from this MOS

Duties:

  • Removeing and installing aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components
  • Servicing and lubricating aircraft and subsystems
  • Preparing aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks
  • Performing scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections
  • Inspecting and repairing aircraft wings, fuselages and tail assemblies
  • Servicing and repairing aircraft landing gear
  • Repairing or replacing starters, lights, batteries, wiring and other electrical parts

Training:

Job training for a UH-60 Helicopter Repairer consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including inspection and repair of aircraft engines and equipment. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. Some of the skills you learn are:

  • Engine disassembly and repair
  • Repair of hydraulic, fuel and electrical systems
  • Repair of aluminum, steel and fiberglass airframes and coverings
