Democrats to Bush: No more troops to Iraq Email This Story Print This Story

The new leaders of Congress on Friday urged President Bush not to pour more U.S. troops into the war in Iraq, calling the idea "a strategy that you have already tried and that has already failed."

Their open letter comes as Bush considers a new plan for the war, shuffles his Iraq commanders and moves his spy chief to handle Iraqi diplomacy.

More troops, leave Iraq, maintain status quo. What do you think we should do to resolve the issue of Iraq? Post your idea here by commenting.

My boyfriend is in the Army National Guard and he stands ready to deploy whenever asked. However we both agree that enough in Iraq is enough. I believe that we should bring troops home from there because there are more important things that they could be doing than going over there for Bush's personal pleasures.

Stphanie should make learning how to spell her main priority. Hopefully, that would keep her busy. Then thankful, freedom loving, red-blooded, American citizens, such as myself, could be spared the obscene insults flowing forth from her small, weak, disgraceful, pathetic mind. I am totally and completely ashamed to share this great nation that my grandfathers fought to build with spoiled, narrow-minded, tree hugging sheep like Stphanie and her "boyfriend."

Cowards and tree hugging sheep huh? Sounds both Ross Kelly and Adam are themselves completely brainwashed by the Neocon's running Washington. Those who don't spew the party line are stupid idiots right? My great grandfather, grandfather, father and my brother's and sister's have fought in every single war this country has been in since 1700 and they were here before your grandfather was in diapers. You give no evidence of how this war in Iraq is making this a great nation. The rest of us red-blooded, "thinking" citizens like myself understand that a terrible burden has been placed on such a small number of people to provide "false" freedom like Ross and Adam. The war in Iraq poses no serious threat to Americans at all and is more to further the purpose of American hegemonic imperialism. The current government is nothing more than expanding it's wealth and territory through military agression and simple minded objectives and the whole time they tell idiots like you too that the purpose is causing freedom. The true test of peace is being prepared for war enough so that the enemy doesn't really want to fight you. By the way, I'm an American veteran whose ready should my country need me and I will beside those who currently fight in Iraq although they are the only one's paying the price from rich elitist's like the President who never really will understand what's it like to be a fighting man...such as Stephanie's boyfriend, a true hero.

Wow... Thanks Army for not censoring these Opinions. I really appreciate that. It's obvious that President Bush and his administration have really put us in an losing situation. I was happy that the Democrats took some control back of the government, but now, I am almost regretting it. They seemed to have made it a policy of blaming the countries around Iraq for not helping out, like Syria and Iran. But we are the sole reason for this war starting in the first place. How can we justifiably leave and blame Syria and Iraq for not helping out. So lets stop going to the extremes. We need a government that will work together for the better of the whole nation, not just for their party to get us out of this mess without doing anymore damage and without looking any worse to the rest of the world. Thanks for the Voice Army.

People as grammatically-challenged as "jon" should not be allowed to publicly post their weak opinions. As an Army wife myself, I feel its time to pull out and start spending all that money helping our own citizens here at home. The "mission" has been tried and failed. Its time to worry more about American needs, i.e. providing formal education for all the "jons" infecting our nation.
