"Today is my birthday. Four years ago on this day I was preparing myself for the possibility that this birthday may be my last. My team and I were poised at the Iraqi border and as evening approached the anticipation mounted… we knew the war had begun as we watched a series of Scud missiles launch in the distance. The intended targets we knew were the units to our rear and the city of Kuwait but as a former Air Defender I knew that our Patriot Batteries and Air Force would take out these rogue missiles long before they hit their mark. A couple of hours later the Combat Engineers had completed breeching the obstacles that made up the border between Iraq and Kuwait and we were now on our way to Baghdad… and to War. Happy Birthday to me?"

Today marks the four year anniversary of the invasion into Iraq and we have been a country at War since then. A lot has happened in the last four years: Sadaam is gone, Iraq now has a new government, and we have had 3219 U.S. fatalities and 23,417 U.S. wounded. As the War continues the country may be divided on support for the War but support for our Troops has never wavered. We want to thank our Troops for their service and reassure them that our support for them will carry on.
