Iraq Ready for U.S. Drawdown Email This Story Print This Story

The impending drawdown of some 30,000 U.S. troops from Iraq will not disrupt the "relentless" pursuit of Al-Qaeda as Iraqis are ready to take their place, says U.S. commander General David Petraeus. Good news from Iraq. The "Surge" is working. Since last February things have gotten increasingly stable in the war torn country. The Iraqi people have been helping the U.S. military root out insurgents and secure the streets in most Iraqi cities. This is a much needed war. If we dont' stop them they'll bring it to us. We all need to support our troops and President. My wife is in the Army and if she goes to the war, hey God will protect her. We have got to stop them or they'll try and take over our country.

hey jeff tell your wife thanks for her service to our country, i think you are right. my son is also in the army and on his second deployment in iraq. why is it that military familys get the deal. maybe because we are sacrificing unlike 99.5 percent of our population. freedom is not free america needs to relize this. dont you think its funny the people complaining, havent served and dont have anyone in there family serving. i think most americans need to watch there son get on a troop transport with an m-4 in his hand and then they would know what sacrifice is, and quiet possibly be truly thankful for the sacrifices being made on our behalf. perhaps we should bring the draft back and send all the drafties to the mexican boarder, to protect the boarder from un-documented entry into our country.we should support our soldiers, there the reason we are free.thank god for the american soldier
