A Republican lawmaker assigned by his party to work on military and veterans’ issues has become the first member of Congress to introduce legislation providing a bigger pay raise to troops in 2009 than proposed by the Bush administration.
There should be no reason that some of the hardest working Americans receive a raise. The military is generally underpaid for the amount of expertise and experience they have. Is there any reason the military shouldn't receive a 3.9% raise?

as a new army personnel soon going to basic trainning soon that was one of the factors that delaid me from joinning the service and am so glad that they and myself with have a better pay program for the trainning that is reguired of us cause anyone who serves in the armed forces should have have good pay for we do
Do you think LOSERS like Latarri who threw a puppy off a cliff in Iraq deserve a RAISE????? They are beasts and deserve to be thrown off a cliff or better yet, have abomb placed up their backside. I am through donating and feeling bad for the soldiers.
Wow Samuel Moore. You say we dont deserve your money right? Then I have but only one question for you. Why do you live under the flag that gives you all the freedoms that we provide you while dieing in these wars? You people are all the same. You want the freedom without any of the costs that come along with it. Just remeber freedom isn't free it cost allot of blood and pain that us as soldiers are proud to do for you so next time you go pay your taxes or pop off at the mouth about one or two bad seeds in the military just remeber we are dodging bombs and bullets on your behalf and we are without our families and loved ones while you enjoy life.
