Carter Meeting With Terrorists Email This Story Print This Story

Former President Jimmy Carter's upcoming meeting with senior officials of the Palestinian terror group Hamas is not "in the interest of peace," according to State Department spokesman Sean McCormack. FOX News confirmed on Thursday that Carter will travel to Syria next week for an unprecedented meeting with the senior leadership of Hamas. The State Department has designated Hamas a "foreign terrorist organization," a stance McCormack reiterated.

Only an idiot would think that this will help the situation in the middle east. Historically Carter has been a weak leader which was shown by Iran's long captivity of American hostages during his administration. Iran knew he was soft. They were very quick to release those hostages when President Reagan was elected though. Should former Presidents be involved with terror groups or does it undermine what the country is doing>
