A 10-month stalemate over a major veterans’ benefits bill will come to a head Tuesday with a procedural vote in the Senate to take up a controversial measure: providing pensions to Filipino veterans who served with American troops in World War II by cutting benefits for other U.S. veterans.
Give benefits to non-Americans at the expense of benefits to American Veterans? NO WAY! Good job to the Senators trying to block this bill. It is not the responsibility of the American government to provide pensions to every person in the wold who has assisted U.S. troops during a time of war. This is not a social program this is a veterans program. It is obvious by the list of senators pushing this that most of them don't respect our veterans anyway. Should we be providing pensions to and foreign veterans?

I am tired of congress spending my money everywhere but here. No pensions for Filipinos when we aren't even giving our vets a fair share.
i agree with john on this one. why are we worried about others before our own. everyday you here how America helped some people across seas, and the same day you have Americans complaining about it. what is goverments true outlook. they do not care about us (THE U.S CITIZEN) in the least. we blow something up! then we go fix it for them! and all we did was waste ammo, spent money we dont have, to make a friend who might stab us in the back.
