Porn is gross if you look at porn you have to much time on your hands and to do something elese other than sit around and watch people have sex which is a sin by the way. i believe that porn goes against the moral codes of our military and god there is plenty of other things to do on a base than sit around and watch porn. i mean come on isn't it about time to grow up and relieze that porn is not beauty but a industry built on sex and drugs. when you watch a porn you paid for the drugs that thoose people shot up on, and 90% of thoose people get suck doing porn for money and drugs! we not only have a war on terror going but a war within our country to stop drugs. ask your self next time you rent, watch, buy, a porn are you paying to coke in a pipe or a needle in someones arm. does that man or woman have hiv or another type of std? even if there is protection there they can still pass it. have you ever watch a porn that had protection included for the people. nope! would you want your child to watch that? if your watching porn you need to get up stop and go get your own sex life rather than pay to watch two people disgrace them selves.

I believe you can get addicted to porn, and thats bad. But in the military, when you are away from home and your wife or husband, girlfriend, boyfriend. You get lonely. Who does it hurt when you look at porn? I think "Carmen" went a little overboard. I dont think were putting drugs into there veins. Its there choice if they do drugs, and if we watch porn or not, they will still do drugs. So back to porn being sold on military bases. If its such a problem stick to Playboy or classy not trashy magazines. But I say leave it how it is now. You need to have some kind of escape after a gun fight. It relieves stress. carman, im sorry, its just hard to take someone serious who cant spell basic works right. i didnt even finish reading what you wrote because of how ignorant you are to your own language. as far as the pornagraphy goes... phil said it all, its our rights and to strip that away from the very people that give this country security would be an abomination and a slap in the face to our admirable soldiers. dont go misinterpreting my words, and think i see nothing wrong with porn. i find it considerably imoral, but thats my convictions, ill look down at no man for it, nor will i believe it anyones place to take it away.

First and formost, joining the army takes away most of our inherent rights. We sign away years of our lives to serve a country we believe is right. If the army sees fit to ban porn, we are not in a position to argue, we agreed to become the puppet. Now, what good would the army acheive by banning porn. It would satisfy the wants of leftist, sexist Americans who find porn offensive and dont think anyone should view it in any form. Now from a soldiers prospective, you are taking away my ability to masterbate, which in turn leads to two things, increased irritablility, and increased chances of contracting prostate cancer. If im lying, read a Mens Health magazine. So does this mean the army would rather see its ranks torn apart by infighting? Or that our nations military promotes cancer? You decide.

This discussion isn't about whether or not porn is sinful and degrading- it's as simple as this:

these people are the ones who have taken bullets for us. these people are the ones who have left their homes, their families, anything and everything they love to go overseas, set up tents, roll around in dirt and get shot at so that WE have the right to take our lazy selves off our couches, sit down at the computer, and pull up anything and everything we want off the internet (be it porn or not) because THEY are why we have freedom.

Carmen, your religious beliefs are your own, so the fact that you see it as a sin to watch porn is no reason to ban it. Matt is right, too. They're going to do drugs whether we buy porn or not.

Mike, I don't know anyone on the left who wants to take away porn. Most of the people who want to ban it are on the extreme religious right. Also note that the ban was proposed by a Republican Senator.

PHIL, in joining the military, one does give up a certain amount of liberties, but I don't think looking at porn should be one of them, nor do I think the army would actually attempt to do such a thing.

GR Joe, The problem with that is that you would have potential sexual relations within the community on the base. That is bad for morale and unity. If you don't believe me, then you should be fighting the Don't Ask don't Tell Policy, because that's pretty much the only viable backing for the discriminatory policy.
