Chinese Hack American's Laptop? Email This Story Print This Story

U.S. authorities are investigating whether Chinese officials secretly copied the contents of a U.S. government laptop computer during a visit to China by Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez and used the information to try to hack into Commerce computers, officials and industry experts told The Associated Press.

The Chinese will continue to pursue technology through hacking and espionage as long as they can. Why develop when you can steal. America should cut back on trade with China and start manufacturing more things here, rather than propagating more security risks. How many of the microprocessors in out government computers are made in China? Do we know if there is a back door programmed into these chips? How should America react to China's continued cyber-attacks?

You know, that is very scary. It appears to me that if you cut back on trades with China they would have to begin trading with Russia, who would become just as powerful as America both in Military strength and Economical Strength.
