Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday that he is not afraid of a new Cold War, but does not seek it. "We are not afraid of anything, including the prospect of a new Cold War," Medvedev was quoted as saying Tuesday by the ITAR-Tass news agency. "But we don't want it and in this situation everything depends on the position of our partners." The statement comes hours after Medvedev recognized the independence of two Georgian rebel provinces, defying the West. The recognition follows a short but intense war with Western-allied Georgia earlier this month.
An aggressive Russia with a Soviet type power and land hunger, is at the bottom of the list of things the rest of the world needs. An outbreak of the black plague would be better. Former KGB officer and now President Medvedev seems to yearn for the good old cold war days. In fact Russia even threatened the new missile defense shield with a nuclear attack. A new cold war scares me. I don't want my children doing bomb drills in school and having to learn how to treat radiation sickness. This is a good lesson as to why Obama is not qualified to be President. He thinks that there is no situation that calls for nuclear weapons to be used. Well by God if we get bombed I want to retaliate with extreme prejudice.
right except for the part where two planes hit the WTC...other than that we have never been attacked on our own soil...thought i wouldn't say tha the reds have nothing on us...i would hate to go up against hat army they are, despite popular belief, as strong as they ever were....
i think if russia wants to get in a war with us they will and there aint a dang thing we can do about it i mean if they want they can come get it its not going to be easy for either side but i will give my life to make sure that if we go to war with them that we will win. and i think a cold war is out of the question i mean there stupid but there not that stupid
Damn straight Damien. If they start it, we WILL finish it. We can't work to prevent a war, though. thats up to them. the ball's in thier court. if they dont hit it right, they are going to be in trouble.
