Army/Sears Deal Angers Rep. Murtha Email This Story Print This Story

U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said he was less than thrilled the U.S. Army had licensed a clothing store to sell 1st Infantry Division insignia. Sears said last week it had reached an agreement with the Army and would begin a line of All American Army Brand clothing for men, women and boys, Crain's Business Journal reported. The licensing fee is to go toward programs that benefit army personnel and their families, Crain's reported.

Despite his years of service in the Marines, John Murtha has shown nothing but contempt for U.S. troops in the last couple of years. From his comments about the troops being unable to win the war to judging a group of innocent Marines saying "the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and they actually killed civilians." This was before the trial of those Marines began and he never even read the report he was just assuming the worst about our men. Innocent until proven guilty doesn't mean much if it gives you a chance to bash the troops does it Mr. Murtha? Now that the Army has come up with a brilliant marketing campaign to help increase enlistment and support for our troops, He is against it. The money from these sales is to helps soldiers and their families, what is wrong with that? Or is it that that money won't be controlled by you so you don't like the idea?

Murtha is a discredit to the uniform he wore. A soldier is always supposed to have his brothers back. If that soldier does something unbecoming a member of our armed forces then they are tried and if found guilty punished. That is when you make your comments. Not during the opening phases of a trial which you failed to read the report on. This Disgrace should have been run out of congress and told to never come back. By the way Murtha is being sued for libel and defamation by the Honorable and Innocent Marines that he betrayed and threw under the bus. I hope they take everything he has.

God bless our troops and forgive those who don't bother checking the facts before they speak.
