The Obama administration appears to be backing away from the phrase "global war on terror," a signature rhetorical legacy of its predecessor. In a memo e-mailed this week to Pentagon staff members, the Defense Department's office of security review noted that "this administration prefers to avoid using the term 'Long War' or 'Global War on Terror' [GWOT.] Please use 'Overseas Contingency Operation.' " The memo said the direction came from the Office of Management and Budget, the executive-branch agency that reviews the public testimony of administration officials before it is delivered.
So now instead of calling what it is, we are going to call it something that we hope doesn't offend our enemies. Can we still call them enemies? Instead of trying to placate the rest of the world with word that really don't mean anything, why don't we try winning the 'Global War On Terror'?

I protested George W, Bush's speech in Calgary on March 17th. At the same time I want everyone to know that the soldiers in Iraq are true patriots and that in the end I believe that human rights for disadvantaged women are worth the fight being made in the Middle East. The troops standing for human rights advancemmuch ents deserve to be honoured as our WW2 vets and Vietnam Vets who were drafted by their governments. Now as the battle shifts to Afghanistan, as it should have been all along, I pray that all the NATO soldiers remember that even the loudest protesters are behind the troops. There was woman in NW Pakistan whose name is Muktaram Mai, she was ordered to be raped by hundreds of upper-class.upper-clan men in her village by tribal elders in the name of Allah!!!!!!! A holy war in the name of Humanitarianism!!! God bless you American soldiers, we may be small, but Canada is with you. You who risk it all, I admire your strength, I admire your will.
