Okay....
1. My husband is doing his AIT in AZ, now from what I have read I assume we get only BAH II b/c he has been in the army only for a little over 9 weeks and that it is only like $300 or so for E3? Is this correct?... Also we will not get normal BAH until he has a Base station? and it is determined on that zip?
2. His brother told us that they we allowance for Food and while he is away he should be getting a allowance also? I have yet been able to see is paycheck stub to check this out.

It seems his brother has mis informed us big time... I hate being in the dark... need some more light shed on this matter.

Also, after he finishes his AIT... how much time does he have off before we have to move to his base? Also, does he have any say where he will be bases

HELP! You can email me!

I will try to answer your questions as best I can. You will not receive BAH or BAS (Food) until he is out of AIT. Once you are at his first Duty Station you should receive about $700-$1100 a month in BAH

Basic allowance for sustenance (BAS or Food) is about $250 a month. Which you will find will get you a hell of a lot of food on base, at the mess hall and commissary. (My wife and I got a very large prepared meal that was quite delicious at the mess hall for $2.45 including sodas)

After AIT he should be able to come home for two weeks for home town recruiter assistance program (HRAP) be sure to talk to his recruiter about this be sure that he has got it set up because it is basically a two week paid vacation and a good time for final goodbyes to friends and family.

The Army takes in to consideration where you would like to be stationed (You pick your top five choices in order and two more overseas) They do not guarantee anything but they do try. Whether or not you get the station you want depends on the availability of his selected MOS.

You should meet with his recruiter and go over all his concerns, no offense to his brother but he does not sound like he has been doing this for very long.

Don’t hesitate to ask any more questions I am more than willing to help in anyway I can. Also, you can e-mail me at NLH921@yahoo.com
