I Heard when you join the National guard that if soilders were needed in war , that possibly if your in the national guard you will be sent to war? Is this true?

US National Guard make up a noted % of the US Army in Iraq....

The National Guard has served in every American war since WW1 in a very large way, except for Vietnam. So yes you will go to war at a time of war. They make up close to 40% of the Army forces in Iraq/Afgan.
