A one mile run in 10.30 minutes is a jog... so unless you are very unfit, you should be ok... Wouldnt worry about it... practice now, going in prepared will make it allot easier..... Good Luck...
....p.s.Im ExIrish Army, so cant tell you about US retesting rules, but here you would be retrained and tested until you passed... or left....

a contnuas sprint is like a 5:40--a fast jog is 7 to 8 min.--slow jog is 9 to 10-- if you cant do a slow jog you might want to reconcider your career choice

start walking about one hour a day, then start with jogs, and then try to make longer jogs more than a mile, so you can gain resistance and the improve your speed

What about goals....im 21 and im a male...Where should I be prior to BT, im aiming to be able to to 110% before BT but thats a long stretch. And what about my PT test what would be some reasonable times for that.
situp/pushups as well
oh yeah longterm hoping to end up a Ranger don't know if I should excel from the begining or if I can afford to slack and just be in decent shape before I go.

you better be in great shape if your hopingto be rangers, even if your in great physical condition the rangers are extreamly selective, as for goal id say 60 sit ups in 1:30 sounds good, 60 push ups in 2 , dont slack show u can exel from the beginning

Do a certain MOS. NightFlyer, I thought you were aviation? I thought physical requirments were a bit harder? Combat MOSs will send you to benning.

Technie MOS's from what I understand.... but to be honest, I would rather the tough training in combat skills cos thats what matters in the thick of it.... the rest can be done over time.... I always said, a miserable recruit makes a live soldier....

Then FT Ruckers (all Army Avaition...pilots to gunners and air traffic control ect. is at ruckers) afterwards for six months of hell bent training and my mos.. Then OCS school for a year. Then back to Ruckers for my pilot's school and training. It's long road but Im going to make it. Hooah.
