Im on delayed entry, Gonna be shipped out on july 4th. Gonna be going to Fort Benning in Georigia. I started working out and running about 4 miles a day. Im just wondering how life is in BT. LIke what time do you get up, what do you do when you get up. Is it basically get up train and go to sleep. Are you able to leave when you arent trainging to go hang out. And for running how much do you run in a day?
Wouldnt get hung up on details prior to Training lad... just know that the instructors have a regime of good work laid out for you, and just follow there lead..... Before you know it, you will have passed.... running 4 miles a day is more then enough fitness to make a start.... try 35 push ups and 35 press ups in a two one minute sessions, and if you can do that, great.... the instructors will help you with the rest... all you have to do is bring your basic fitness as above, along with no expectations and determination to complete your training....

Exo.......there are far better things to do on here than letting him get to you. He feeds off that ****. I am pretty sure everyone would like to rip his head off......but then there would be another one just like him out there. He is just reeking in the benefits of Freedom of Speech....and til the end off time we will be out there defending his right....as ****ed up as it may feel.

Chopperman, while they are all busy bickering I will answer your question. I too went through basic training at Fort Benning. I will always remember "Sand Hill". You will too, lol. Anyway, running 4 miles a day is a good idea, and alternate your running and MSE days. Pushups, situps, etc. one day and running the next. That is how you will do it at Fort Benning. Also, you will have enough free time to write a letter home and get a shower, but there will never be enough time to leave the barracks to "hang out" other than on Sundays, which are lazy days, but you still will not be able to leave your Co. area. Expect basic training to be the hardest thing you have undertaken mentally and probably physically as well. They do not cater to anyone. They wont hold your hand. They wont be nice when you need a day off. They wont ever let you have an extra minute on the telephone for any reason( and phone time is extremely rare). You wont see a woman more than a half a dozen times, and that will probably be your Drill Sergeants wife or check out lady at PX. You will probably not do anything "fun" for the first two weeks you are there. You will sit at reception at Fort Benning for several days atleast before your training even starts. You will quite possibly call home from reception about your second day and ask your Mom if she is "sure she doesnt know any congressman". If you dont understand now, you will. Also, on the flip side of that coin....You will learn to like your Drill Sergeants even though you will think it impossible when you meet them. You will begin to enjoy PT around week three. You will be very efficient and focused at graduation. You will most likely have a feeling of accomplishment like never before while standing on that parade field during graduation. You will have a since of pride like never before. YOU WILL be glad you endured it all, and especially at Benning! Good luck, stay squared away, and pretend that making Drill Sergeants happy is your favorite thing in the world for about 11 weeks and you will do great.
