Hey Tzvetoslav, only a Troll Jackass would say that so such a question, and I am Ex Irish Army...... Assuming you are US Citizan, or have a green Card/Visa for US, you can join the US Army by logging onto goarmy.com, where you can get some basic questions answered or/and join the Army. You need to have all your questions answered, so if you are US based, goto your local army recruiter (Site will help you on this), and have your questions written down about training length, bonsus, MOS types, Tests (MEPS/AVSB/Etc), what you need to do to get in and on in the Army, opportunities available that interest you, and deployment rules.... have all your questions written down and go see him.... You will need to get back to him for sure on stuff, but its a great start to finding out about your new career.... I have being in the Irish Army for only a few years, and I do know the US Army takes care of its own, so dont mind the punk Trolls out there and make your move for your new career.... Good Luck....

I'm sorry, but I'm 14 years old and I just want to know what to do when I grow up.Also do I have to study in officer's school to join the army (if I don't,will I be able to become a ranger without it and to what status will I be able to gain) ?Also I don't know where to be.In the ARMY or in the Marine Corps.

I reccomend you read up on the Army and the USMC. See which jobs interest you. I don't think you HAVE to go to an officer school, but it'd probably help if you wanted to join as a higher rank. I'm not sure about the rangers though. I'll check up on it. You volunteer and pass a test probably.

Dont worry lad, 14yrs old is plenty of time to decide, you should concentrate on your school and sports, and girls only in your passtime.... Zidane is right, theres plenty of material on www.goarmy.com and also www.military.com to read up on....

That said, know the basic functions of Marines in Naval Infantry Force who specialise in Naval defence and offense, thus the reason why they operate in a more flexible and multiskilled role in terms of the basic PFC marine..... Army is more specialised for the PFC but there are more opportunities in the Army, cos of its wider size and role..... and the Rangers is a good place to start... I am a great believer in understanding, so reading up, talking to people who have being in the military to get understanding and insight should be your first task.... Dont worry about having to sign up in the morning, get to understand what the difference Branchs do first, and then when you have that insight, see which one is best suited to you... When you know then apply.... I know theres deferred enlistment, but no rush lad, you might want to change branches when you are of enlistment age, not a problem before MEPS....

Good luck, and please note I am Ex Irish Army, so whilst my knowledge of US Forces is ok, I may not have the answers you need....
