Hi,

I used to live in the states for a long time, and we hade to come to europe due to family illness. My question is,
1) can I join the army being a spanish (Spain) citizen?
2) if so, what happens when I complete my duty, do I have to leave the country?
3) is it possible to join rangers directly? or do I have to come from a standard army unit?
4) is the standard time 4 years?

any answers or information will be greatly appreciated.

many thanks in advance and best regards

Hi, Im ExIrish Army, and from the US Lads, I know, the answers are the following;

1) You can join the US Army if you are a US Citizan or hold a Green Card
2) If you complete your duty contract, you are entitled to US Citizanship, but check with a recruiter, I think theres some conditions attached to citizanship.... 3yrs... me thinks..
3) US Army Rangers recruits directly from Joe Public, unlike elite units and SF Units in Europe who draw from recruit complete pools or regular units...
4) Used to be 2 yrs Army, 3 yrs Marines.... I believe Army is now 3 yrs... Goto to www.military.com for more details

Oh, as for Marines.... I would forget them too... ARMY LEADS THE WAY!!!....;)

Good luck in your move man....

Rgds
