For anyone who takes the time to answer my question, or to point me in the right direction, I thank you in advance.

I am currently a 1LT in the Air Force Reserve IRR program. I am interested in joining the Army Reserve as an officer and start drilling again. Is it possible to come out of the AF IRR program into the Army Reserve program? What regulation covers this?

Any help from someone who has done this before or who knows where I can find the information on this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Jay

I recently worked with Army Reserve Headquarters in St Louis to transfer my AF IRR to Army reserves. Actually pretty easy to do the transfer, one paper that is filled out by you and St Louis, then sent to Denver for AF to sign off on. While waiting on that you can do application for Army Reserves, which will require basic background and medical records revue. contact St Louis or recruiter about the Blue to Green program or search engine it

I'm not sure how it goes with the commissioned officers but at this time the Army & Marine Corps needs more people than the Air Force or Navy. you're definitely going to have to do some research & check with your Army officer aquisition recruiters.

This is a relatively simple procedure, although it can be a bit time-consuming.
Your recruiter requests a Conditional Release (DD368) from the USAF IRR personnel center. This can take a month to get a response. You really should determine what your Army career field will be, and what sort of training requirements you're facing.

Relevant regulation is AR 135-100.
