I need advice from people with army experience. I am 18, a freshman in college. I am currently majoring in Broadcast Journalism in Ohio. The thing is I am not motivated here. I wasn't motivated in high school either, since the last half of junior year I skipped most days and just went for tests, but I passed everything. I am honestly very smart, I had a 4.0 until I started skipping. Here in college I maintain a 3.0 and I usually just go to all classes 1 or 2 times a week instead of 2 or 3 like I should. I just don't feel motivated.
This is making me think of making a life change. I still am interested in Journalism, if not maybe Biology, but regardless I am second-guessing if college is right for me. I love it but I want to work. When I have a job I do it damn good. I was thinking of enlisting in the army and doing Basic Training this summer, just leaving college when this semester ends in May. The thing is I am not sure if this is for me. I have asthma, but I still work out regularly. I do have a hard time running though, I control my running when working out but I could not expect special treatment in the army, which makes me think from the get I shouldn't do it. Otherwise I am not scared to, I think I would do good.
I think I just need to hear some advice from people who have experience, how it is, especially if you have asthma or left college to do the army. I am aware of the ROTC, but like I said, college completely is looking like a choice I made because I felt I had to. I don't know, I'm just confused and ANY help is so greatly appreciated.
