I am 27 married, and own a small business.
I do not have a college education, I have a strong need for doing "something meaningful in this world" and i also want to get a professional degree in a promising field, along with experience.
My question is if the reserves pays for education while enlisted, and will they train me in a new field if i enlist?
thanks in advance for your response

after you go to basic training, you will then go to AIT, this is the training for you MOS (army job). before you sign your papers for the army, they will give you an asvab test. this score will let you know what jobs you are qualifed for. hundreds of jobs. from chef (my husbands job) to drill sargants, computer experts, pilots, everything. they also have programs to help pay for collage.

Yes they will train you for your job, they have too. They train you the same way they train regular military soldiers. They also give you the same benefits as regular military. I do believe all brances have 100% tuition reimbursement, along with GI Bill. Usually you have to pay the college up front, then get the grades back and submit it to the military along with Tuitioin aid paperwork to get your money. I've been in the reserve approx 10 years and have been trained in 2 jobs. I have 144 hrs. of schooling through various schools and classes for both jobs. I am not sure if those hrs of school will transfer or not, usually they don't but I can get a degree assoc or bach. through the CCAF (Community College of the Air Force.)
