Hello.
I am new to having a friend or family member in the army so I am a little concerned. Not to down play any one elses concerns, I feel for all of you.
My closest and best friend is 19 and is in the Army. Can anyone who has had a lot of family members and friends in the Army tell me what his chances are of being deployed? He is currently out of South Carolina.

He is young. He is afraid. But he loves his country and its what he wants to do. If he makes up his mind for sure. Is there any way he can push for deployment?

Yes. Once out of training he will have access through his AKO account to a volunteer website and he can specify where, what type of unit, etc. Of course if he lands in one of the highly dployable units he will most likely go anyhow.
