please don't take this as an insult, but go to a community college close by and ask to take a practice GED test. this is what i was told to take to study for the ASVAB test. i think it really worked well for me. try it - it can't hurt. good luck

sorry wild child , i seriously don't know if you can get in or not. i guess your only option is to ask your recruiter for sure. ej

Well a 25 is a pretty low mark .. what you can do is get a book on the ASVAB and try to study it with most books now they come with test CD`s you can practice it at take it as many times as you want.. Me i would never settle with a low mark .. study hard for it.. this is somthing rewarding for you in the future.. poople think they dont need to study for it or that they wont need it ijn the army like math.. you do !! you need math to be able to read a map GPS ect.. send out coordinates all that stuff.. if you find it hard like i did.. as somone said go to a college anyone and practice the GED test it will help you very much.. never settle for less... at least give it 2 months or 1 depending on how much effort you put into it.. and no you dont have to be a rocket sientist for it. but you do need to be able to complete the test with an adecuate score... hit the books for a while time urself so you wont be streesed out when you take it again.... you can also get a tutor.. its not lame if you do.. this is your future and whatever it takes to be able to achieve it is worth it!!.. good luck
call a community college and ask if you can study for the GED even tho you dont need to take the actual test.. they will be ok with it!! also you can find the asvab book in any local library.. good luck to you.

GREAT NEWS!!
you can still get in if you fail the asvab. However, this will require an interview at the MEPs station to determine if the test accurately measured your ability. If it did then slim chance, if the test was not an accurate indication of your ability then you can obtain a waiver and get in per AR 601-270.

Hey, Im glad your gonna take the test over again, and maybe study some of the books that you can get as a review. Remember that you wont get the same test again, and to try your best. I also think that the test will be able to tell what your good at, and hopefully you will get high enough in that field to pass the test, because that 25 you got was a overall score. Your recruiter should have the score to each diff area on the test. ;) This way you will know what you need to work on.

Hey, I have kind of the same problem as this guy I scored really badly on asvab as my math I did not learn any of the hard stuff :) I am not book smart but I can learn anything after shown how to do it. As I was a sped (special ed) and I was left behind in school big time. So, I can’t really get into college but I want to go army and do some thing for my country. Could you tell me more about this waiver stuff like what will they ask and what do I have to do so I can get ready as I want to go army like three days ago! :) It’s in my blood. I’ve taken the test twice and failed the first one I did badly the second I did a little better but not even close. I can’t remember the wording they said I am how I learn but I learn hands on and not in books, and the army would be perfect for me as a lot of it is hands on work. Advise please? Oh and I don’t want to go air force as a lot of those jobs are (no disrespect intended as my dad was air force) is sitting around and I want to go out and do real missions where I can shoot and fight for this country
Respectfully,
Jas
