Question about deployment

Hello, i plan on becoming an MP in the army i have a question though after going through basic training and all my other training i was wondering if i am able to bring my labtop to where i am based to stay in contact with loved ones at home?? This is a question my Mother wanted me to post because she is the emotional type and would like to know if she could keep in touch with me while i am out of the contry if i am based out of the contry or where ever i could be based. if you could please answer my question to the best of your ability it would really help me thank you very much!

when you at basic you are aloud almost nothing. some drill sargents let you have cell phones on the weekend, but not very many, so dont plan on having anything there. ait training gives you a little more freedom. cell phones on evenings and weekends, not sure about computer but i know my husband had a dvd player and i sent him movies. they had radios and things to. when you are through there, you will go to your base. this is your new "home" you get all the freedoms of army life. computer, phones, cable, etc. tell mom not to worry, she will be able to stay in touch!
