Single with no kids

My boyfriend plans on joining the army. he graduates in a few months. i was just reading the requirements and it said you have to be single with no kids or married with 2 or less. me and my boyfriend have a son, so does that mean he won't be able to join?

my husband was able to join the army before we got married, we also had a son on the way when he joined. i dont think your boyfriend should have any problem joining. we actually only got married 2 days before he left for basic training and our son was 2 months old by then. if he's serious about joining and you support him, my advice is to go for it, there should be no problem. good luck.

Here are the specifics on the question. If your boyfriend chooses to go directly from AIT to His first duty station the Army will fly him there. I am not sure if he can choose to drive from home to his duty station. They will fly him home if he wants to go there first then it is up to him on how to get to his duty station by the time given to him. We were married when my husband got out of AIT and he chose to come home first and get me and we came to Ft Carson together. Have him ask this question before he graduates AIT.
