Hello everyone :)
Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself.

I'm a mother of an 18yo son who joined the Texas National Guard a couple months ago. He has gone to two drill weekends so far and absolutely loves it. He was excited and looking forward to basic this summer at Ft. Knox... where he arrived May 29th
The MOS he chose is 19D

I've been reading up on some internet websites that have diary/journal info on what all goes on. But can't seem to get enough. LOL I guess it's because I haven't gotten to talk to him yet (only my husband and my mother have, plus a message on my cell LOL) for him to tell us everything. I realise not much has gone on this week probably since he only got there late Tuesday night (except shots, ID, etc). From the message he left here he should be headed out of reception and into basic this week.

I also have an 18yo sister who joined right after my son (he was supposed to get credit for her joining but things got messed up somehow). She was shipped of and arrived at Ft. Jackson on May 29th. I'm not sure what her chosen MOS was yet.

Thanks!

Whoohoooo!
We got our first letter from him today. He says he will be actually starting basic on Friday. Yikes, what-a wait... got there late last Tues night and still in "reception" until Friday. LOL Oh well :)
At least I know he is doing good so far. LOL Besides the sore arms he has from the shots.
Can't wait for him to get changed over so he can give us an addy to write him at :)

hasan_the_mad... yeah 19D all the way he said. He is all hyped about that

If You Ain't Cav... You Aint ... =)

I wish your son good luck. Cav Scout is a highly high speed MOS. He's going to get the ride of his life with Fort Knox. My fiancee sure did... =) He loves it though.
