With the ceasefire in the North of Ireland taken effect, the military here was given room to breath and upgrade to keep up with modern times, etc. However with that upgrade was a reorganisation, that saw commands disbanded and brigades formed... With such disbandment, some very good units like my beloved 29th Batt were dmobbed, and a the new face of the Irish Infantry Corps was born.
Whilst theres no sweeter pill then mission accomplished for dmob of your unit, its still worth remembering the units that are no more....
Heres a set of Battalion Flashes Reserve and Full Time in the Infantry Corps... Active and Dmob'd. My 29th Batt lacked creative art skills, but made up in soldiering skills.. lol....;)
