does the army give seperation pay?
my recruiter said something about since i am married i will get extra money for being seperated while in basic and AIT.
but he didnt say how much? i cant find anyhting about it on this website
and am i automatically signed up for that or do i sign up after im in basic training?

No you will not receive seperation pay while in basic or ait.
sorry but wrong! i got seperation pay for my husbnad while he was away at basic and ait last year. i dont recall how much, but i know it was there.

HI there!
DH is at AIT now, and I am currently and have been receiving (since BCT) separation pay. I think it is $250. I will have to look at the stub, but I believe that is right. If it isn't, it isn't lower than $150. Hope that helps... PLUS you get your housing allowance too. In TN ours was about $869 and now in OH it is about $767...
However, I have dependents and that may make the difference. ?? mullins? Did you have dependents?

Yes, that is what it means... anytime you are away for 30 days (I believe) from your family you get separation pay. I don't think it matters the more dependents you have. It is my understanding it is a flat rate.
