when do i get my sign on bonus?

i went mp and got a 20,000 sign on bonus, i know ill get half after AIT training.

my recruiter said soemthing like the half will be deposited into my bank account like the last 2 weeks of AIT training, but other people say it takes months to get the money.

does anyone know how long it takes, or could you tell me how long it took for you to get your bonus???

Yah it really depends... usually 1/2 after AIT and the rest over a three year period... payout should be disclosed on the papers you signed... we didn't get one... ROFL SO I AM JEALOUS! hahaha However, he got an amazing amount of GI BILL. So we were happy.

it just depends on what job you took.

like i wanted MP and with mp you get 19000.00 sign on bonus, but i also got 1000.00 bonus for shipping within 14 days of enlisting.
so it came out to 20000.00 ....

but like other jobs for instance that they offered me lol-
COOK:19,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS
SUPPLIER:19,0000.00 SIGN ON BONUS
and there was an office job to where you learn business and receptionsits duties or something it had a 19,000.00 sign on bonus..

if you say "hey i aint joinin if i dont get MP, youll get MP"
trust me, i should know


i mean if you need no more than 5 points to be MP they will give you MP or dont join, and they will give it to you, they are like car salesmen they are tryin to sell you the army. so you CAN and SHOULD negotiate with them. DONT SETTLE. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR CONTRACT.

there is a way to get out though. everyone swears in 2 times, if you sign and swear in the first time and they promised you something and wont give it to you, you DO NOT have to join. you do not belong to them until YOUR 2ND SWEAR IN.

The second you step foot on BCT grounds, You have no rights.
There's a few ways of getting out, but you wont like them. I only know of two off the top of my head;

Going AWOL and getting a Dishonorable Discharge, and Shooting yourself in the foot.

All these guys are suggesting is that you know what your getting into. Their just trying help you, not scold you. :D
