I was told by ex military service man that if you join the military that u can get your carry permit at the age of 18 instead of 21 was just wondering if he was telling the truth or not thanks for any help.

That depends on your state and their laws concerning permits. If your state requires you to be 21 to own a handgun, then you won't be getting your permit any time soon.
