Hey I just got back from watching the Michael Moore documentary SiCKO. Its all about insurance stuff, and I was wondering from people that have the Army's Tricare insurance how good it is?? Will my family have to worry about being denied for a "pre-existing condition?" Or the description of having to pay "little to nothing" for health care, what do they consider "little." Any information regarding army health insurance would be greatly appreciated.

I will be enlisting for active duty within the next couple weeks. Would I even have this tricare insurance I keep reading about? Or would I just getting treated on-base for free?

I am not really sure at this point -since I am new to the military. So far it has worked out ok. We lived 60 miles from a post and I was able to use the hospital close to me during my recent miscarriage... I have a doctor that is close to me as my Primary Care Manager... if I do not like them, I can request a change online... I haven't had problems with pre-condition... PPO plans you pay 20%... PRIME they pay 100%... I do not think they cover things like fertility - although I could be wrong. haha SO for every day family things I think the insurance is just fine. My sister-in-law has had many health problems... has had gall bladder removed and several other procedures... she has been fine.
