It seems like they have been getting pickier and pickier lately. Anyone else notice stuff like this?

I agree. It seems like they are getting stricter on who they will allow to join the Army. When I was talking to a cyber recruiter, this is what they asked me for:
1) What is your full name?
2) Male or female?
3) If you visited our chat room at GoArmy.com in the past, what nicknames did you used?
4) What is your date of birth?
5) If attending school, what grade are you currently in (HS Jr, HS Sr, College Freshman, Grad Student, etc) ?
6) If not in school, what is the highest level of education achieved (HS Grad, GED, 24 College Semester Hours #, AA, BA/BS, MBA, etc) ?
7) What is your height and weight?
8) Do you now or have you ever had any medical issues, if so, what are/were they and when?
9) Have you ever had any surgeries? If so, what kind?
10) Are you currently taking any prescription medications? If so, for what?
11) Do you suffer from any reoccurring illnesses(Asthma, Diabetes, Bipolarism, etc.) ?
12) Have you ever had any law violations against you to include traffic tickets?
13) If so, please list all charges and dispositions (i.e. paid, probation, dismissed, etc.) .
14) Do you have a current driver's license?
15) If so, issued by what state and when does it expire?
16) Are you married, single, or divorced?
17) Do you have any children, if so how many?
18) If so, who has physical custody?
19) Are you a U.S. citizen?
20) If not a U.S. Citizen, do you have a green card?
21) What is your current address and zip code (Please no P.O. Boxes) ?
22) What is your phone number, to include area code?
23) What is your daily schedule and good time to contact you?
24) Do you have any tattoos?
25) If so, how many and where are they located?
26) Are you interested in serving in the Active Army or Army Reserve?
What do they need all that information for????

The military is selective because the laws require it. The questions listed in this thread are not atypical, as they assist the recruiter in assessing a prospective candidate's ability to serve in the armed forces.

Welli think its good in some ways that they are abit more selective with the new recruites.
i dont think everyone is made for the military. and i dont think they should admit just anyone. but i think the ASVAB is way to easy as is. and to the weight issue 6 pounds should not be hard to lose and yes i would be mad as well. but work out abit and whtch your diet. it is vital!.
I remember my test it was more like a SAT exam. was horrible.!! but we go threw alot of other tests as well. anyways i dont think im making any sence. Heh, keep fit heads up. walk straight. im out.
