Anyone can get deployed... It would be safe to say at some point you would get your turn.

In my brother-in-laws unit they had office admins training Iraqi soldiers...They had handled nothing but paper since basic. They were told their BCT experience was needed to help train. I would not know what they would have that MOS doing overseas. My feeling is - it is better to expect that you will go at some point, then think you are free and clear. Everyone in the military knows that plans and orders change and nothing can protect you in a time of war.

here is my situation. My ship date for B.T. is on March. and I am a new college graduate and looking for a job. What can I do? because I can't just sit home and wait for the ship date. Most job trainings (not the military one) are 6 months long, which conflict with my ship date. I am wondering is there a way out. I know it's hard to get out once you signed a contract.
If I got discharge, would it affect me finding jobs in future?
I really need to make some money for a living, because I need to move out of my house by the end of this month. Food, insurance, housing cost so much.

The only thing I can recommend is to find some part time job or hook yourself up with a temp service. Another thing is to ask your recruiter for an earlier ship date. That might mean waiting between BCT & AIT in a holdover company longer but at least you'll be payed, get three square meals a day & have a place to sleep as well as being taken care of medically if you get sick or injured. I'm surprised they didn't ship you out earlier if you wanted to.
The company that I do security work for has several temps in the office. Essentially they work full time until the project is complete & then their service finds other work for them. The last company I did security work for had temps working in the factory. Most were work - release prisoners.
All MOSs are needed in war zones. In a wartime situation you can expect to be deployed. If you didn't think that applied to you or your MOS you were deluding yourself.
Obviously you're going to be a Reservist. What kind of work were you doing before enlisting? If you had a job you could have kept it. Federal law requires an employer to keep your job open while you're doing military duty. That goes for active duty as well as weekend drills & annual training & also any military schools you attend in a Reserve status.
Good luck.

Well I am a 44C and have been deployed, all you really do on the reserve side is take in a lot of documents & relay them back to a site to be coded due to the fact that you really dont have access to the sytems you need. DFAS information is sensitive due to fact it contains everybody in the army's social even once you get out for up to 5yrs., so they cant let those sytems be at your actual unit unless, your whole unit is finance & their are AGR's that are there to keep systems & passwords updated because they automatically lock if they are not in use for awhile.
