My husband's son is a combat medic and was supposed to be deployed to Iraq (Kuwait first?) in October. The last time we talked to him (early October), he had no date yet. Then my hubby called a couple of weeks ago (mid October) and his son's Army-issued cell phone just had a message to the effect that "this phone is not accepting calls in country".

Is there any way we can find out where his son is or how to contact him (like through email)???

cell phones dont work in some countries, or there not allowed?, so he may already be gone. you should get a letter soon from your son telling you were you can send letters and things. i dont think you would be able to call his base to see if he's still there. they keep somethings, as they should, very quite.

Usually the email is first.lastname@us.army.mil ... but he may not have address... if there is an emergency or something serious you can contact the Red Cross OR you may try reaching the FRG leader for his unit... they may be able to provide an update.

I'd like to buy a vowel please? I am sure there is not an envelope big enough for all of those words spelled out but honestly! What is that website that tells us what all of that means?

Lol...I hear ya! But their isn't any web site. That's the way it is....She'll have to wait till the soldier writes home.....It really isn't that bad. She'll get a letter that's printed out for her and her family with the soldiers name and correct address of the soldier on it.....till then. She'll have to wait.....or she can try the FRG.
