My husband is an Army Reservist and we live and work in VA. He has been selected to deploy to Iraq with a unit in TX later this year. Do we get BAH allowance for VA or for TX? I'm confused about this. We've lived in VA for over 14 years.
Thanks!

BAH is for where you live, so if you live in VA, then its for VA

Bah is where you live not where the unit has its home.

This is only true for Reserves and Army National Guard. Active Army BAH is dependent on duty station with very few exceptions. Just wanted to point that out in case anyone wanders into this thread.

You will receive BAH for VA since that is where he is assigned.

It is based on the soldiers HOR. Call his unit and asked what he has listed. Also visit the website below to check all your questions and your rates.
