I Have A Question About Bah!

ok so heres the deal, me and my brother have been rooming together for awhile, i am in the process of enlisting active army. more than likly i will not be lucky enough to be stationed in virginia and my brother isnt willing to move. i was in the national guard for 2 years already but got out due to an injury. im reenlisting as an E-3... will i get BAH? i have no dependancies and im single. yet i dont want to live in a barracks but i know its hard to make a living on just E-3 pay. thanks so much for the help! oh im going in as 68W btw :P so if anyone here is that i would love to know what its like and is it true that after i get out since ill be a 68W i will be eligible to become a LPN?

Single + E3 + No Dependents + Stationed someplace where there are barracks rooms available = No BAH.

Barracks aren't always a bad thing... good way to save some of that E3 pay. :) When you get to E5, 1st Sarge will likely hook you up with BAH.

and like are the barracks like the ones in training... massive amount of people stuffed in one place or is it actually like rooms? if its rooms i guess thats not too bad. btw im reenlisting as a 68W where do u think i might get stationed? can i request a duty station when i go to meps on friday? if i can i would love to get stationed at fort eustis in VA as i live about 15 miles from there. i am dead set on enlisting but i hate to leave all my family and friends, girlfriend etc

Our friend is at Lewis and said he rooms alone and that they are nice barracks. My brother-in-law is at Fort Useless... I MEAN Fort Eustis... ;) It is a very pretty area of the country.
