Trying to book a ticket for my son to coming home! (YEA!):D But I was told that they don't give Military Disccounts from STL to ATL. Can't belive that! Would have done this sooner but his orders change yet again! and he gets to come home for ten days.

Having a hard time finding a flight that doesn't cost a arm and a leg. Can anybody help me? He is going to travel sometime today. But if I can find one cheap then he waon't have to worry about all of that.

We are in Jersey Georgia. We are about 8 miles outside of Loganville. Go to the mall up there alot. I don't mean to hijack your thread here, but we are in Buford about 2 miles from the Mall of Georgia, you?

Thanks for the info. Most airlines were telling me that they had no discounts. It's ok he is coming home on Saturday! Can't wait to see him. Must be in Tx by the 5th, so he is leaving here on the first, so he want be late. Depends on the airline... but it is a VERY small discount... It was like $25 off...

Right, I want to say it was American Airlines that I checked with? I too called a lot of airlines prior to leaving. The ticket rep said that because I am not an actual soldier with ORDERS that she could not provide me with a low fare, but would be willing to do a small military discount. Like I said - it was $25 or so dollars.

Southwest has them also. Also, not very much but sometimes every dollar counts.

Every dimes count for sure now! my daughter in law is going to try to ome home sometime next month for a few weeks but the cost of a ticket is crazy these days. I wish a laod of us could jus load up in a van and go visit but we can't nobody can take off of work to go out there.

It is going to drive us all crazy out here, with her expecting another child and being out there by herself.

I know that got good doctors out there at Fort Hood, but just worrie that something my happen to her this time too.

I know Fireball, things can happen anywhere. You just have to be ready for then. Right? I am getting better, at looking at the bestside of things.;)

My buddy that is over there right now said he would just wear his uni getting on the plane and ALWAYS got bumped up to first class.
So $25 turns into more if you are smart about it.

Except that Servicemembers are discouraged from traveling in uniform unless they are on official duty and required to (mainly when traveling from BCT to AIT and coming home on R&R)

Southwest offers military discount, but you have to call them. It's not online.

Darn tootin I'm wearing my uniform when I fly home for a visit next weekend. One time I just wore my pt uniform and still was able to board first. Got me a nice emergency aisle seat. Maybe I'll get one of those first class seats this time.
