My son is to be leaving soon. But he busted a tooth, He told them to pull it so it would stop him from deployment. They said no. Told him he need that tooth so, they started a root canel and they stopped half way through and told him they could not finish it. Sent him home witha root canel half done. Said he would hear from somebody in the other office in seven to ten days. Said they would finish making the hole and thn he would come back to them, sometime in March.

Please tell me this does not sound right. He is in pain and has a big hole in his mouth. I told him to call the office that they said would call him and see if they can get him in there fast.

Somebody told him that if they don't fix it before thy leave that they would not let him go. Is that right? If so what will they do? Still learning the Army way...:)

Was that in reception or during basic orwas this after basic. I am kinda of curios, I need dental work done and I don't want to be held up. plus I have been trying to figure out when they are going to do this.

I think original post was after the soldiers initial training. But to answer your question, in basic they do an x-ray and ask if you have any immediate pain. If you are okay, then they do any work that needs to get done during Ait. In dental you have different levels, to graduate Ait you have to be at a level II I believe to graduate. They will for sure fix you up to that level if not better before allowed to graduate Ait.
