Housing assistance

My husband just enlisted, he will be leaving for Basic on Sept. 9th to Ft Benning GA. We have 2 children. I am wondering if we get any kind of housing assistance while he is in basic, or if that doesn't start until AIT, or later.

I am so sorry I didn't see this earlier!! Yes, you will get housing pay. (At least we did!)

Thank you so much...that eases alot of stress!!! I don't want to put my kids in daycare so I can work while he's in basic...so if we get housing while he's there that will make my life much easier!

Yes you receive bah, basic housing allowance which is included with his basic pay, it varies by rank and where you are located, you can look up the bah amounts on this site under money.
