Pay question

Hi,

My husband leaves for basic on July 24th, to Fort Knox, Kentucky, we are a one income household (his) and we were wondering how soon the BAH would kick into effect, we have enough money saved to pay all of Augusts bills, but will he get bah for August, and would that be on his first paycheck?

His first paycheck will most likely be on the 15th of August and that SHOULD include his prorated pay starting on the 24th of July including all his entitlements like BAH (also prorated). That first paycheck would be bigger than normal because it will include the pay from those few days in July so don't count on that much each pay period. I wrote the word SHOULD in call caps because sometimes BAH is left off but trust that it will get corrected and you will be paid all the back pay.
