Yesterday my wife went to the Burger King on Post. A man was posting a huge 3 foot sq poster of the playboy emblem on the front door. He then placed them on the front door of the PX. AAFES is sponsoring playboy bunnies for the opening of their new store. My wife had to explain to our children what playboy is. There is a reason why that stuff is in a wrapper and behind the counter. Even wall street won't invest in that stuff. Military families are having a tough time with trust. Why does the army say they promote the army family covenant yet allow this stuff to go on. O'yea, about free speech...when was the last time you saw a commercial on tv advertising cigarettes?

I have been trying to look into this - cause I can't imagine this... and generally this would be heavily advertised since "playboy bunnies" are a big name. Have yet to find anything verifying this type of "opening event". Anyone else here on Army.com hear of this?

Hey - maybe no ads on tv for cigs - but there sure is a lot of sexual content...

I have learned in the short time I've been a mom - that topics I thought were off limits for a few years are topics that I've had to discuss way earlier than planned (age appropriate of course). It is unfortunate, however, you do what you have to do and teaching your kids early to beware of the things that do impact marriages/relationships/families isn't always a bad thing. I hope you spoke with your AAFES manager.

if you cant live with human nature.. what you can live with?

all the things about reproducing are there to aither enbrace or ignore.

You are the one who decides when your children are old enough
to bear that information.

if the surroundings provide too much.. you are the filter.

if you can't handle it... there are loads of different unhealthy factions
which will do it for you.

go with the fair rules.. and teatch your child by them.

the fact that some people are in a different state of life it self (like you your self are)
is what?.. just natural..

why would your wife have to explain what a playboy bunny was? if it was just the emblem then its just a bunny. kids are on a need to know basis, if they dont need to know, dont tell. i get aggitated when people try to say adults shouldnt do things because kids will see it and do it. there are kid things and adult things. to kids its a bunny, to my husband it is currently his best friend will away in Iraq! ;)
