for a while now, my wife has been acting like she has depression. i've been asking her to get it checked out but she keeps saying she is afraid she will be kicked out of the army ng. now she is facing deployment. she goes for workups in about two months and actually deploys in april/may/june. (love the army for their original way of dating things.) if she gets diagnosed, will this hurt her deployment? would they kick her out of the army altogether?

It all depends on the diagnosis & the severity of the depression. I guess you'll just have to wait & see as hard as that might be for you.

Good luck to the both of you.

The Army may prescribe her meds to help her with it if she is indeed diagnosed. When preparing to deploy you go through a whirlwind of emotions so it's understandable that she would seem down. If it is more, the Army would decide that like MSG Glenn said depending on the severity, who knows what might happen.
