Will the army pay?

My father is a retired drill sergeant of the army (an E7). He served 20 years in the military. My question is about my education. Does he get some type of benefits for his child’s college education to be paid for whether it is partial or full? I know if he were to claim disability his GI would pay. But even though he contracted pneumonia in the field and almost died his last year in the army and nearly blew off his thumb in the field, he doesn’t want to file for disability. Is their away I can receive some type of financial help for my dad’s 20 years of service in military?

To answer your question, no you cant use your fathers disability to pay for your eduction.

I suggest you look into it further. My father's disability (War related) paid for me and all my brothers and sisters to go to school.

There are things such as the GI Bill and the GI kicker, and the tuition costs can be paid for if you file for it. Best way would be to talk to some national gaurdsmen that went through college while in the army or before(I know they reimburse for some of the costs if you go before) but best way to find out is talk to soldiers who have been through college. I would say a recruiter but as they are being pushed on recruitment quotas some might stretch the truth, although not all will.
