Good day All,
I just have a question about people dating in the military. Not the same military though, I'm talking about one person being in the U.S. Army and the other being in the German Air Force. What happens when you think you have found the "right" one, but you know it would be difficult to get married speaking in terms of careers/jobs? What must a soldier do?

One of the ways is for one of you to get stationed close to the other. I doubt that would last longer than 5-6 years. If the people are willing to start a relationship, I would think it best for one to change citizenship. With active service in one country, it won't be overly difficult to aquire a job in the other. Some adjustments will have to be made. I would imagine a drop in rank, and some additional training. That's providing both can speak each others' languages fluently! I know that there are rules and regulations pertaining to officers and enlisted military personnell. If both are an officer/enlisted it should be alright.
The last course would be to go part time. Say, reserves. I work full time in the city and do work with the forces on selected weekends and holidays. It works the best for me this way. I don't have to worry about moving all over the place, and driving several thousand miles to see my folks.
There are a lot of options available. It just depends what you wish to do; or sacrifice!
