No Britain has an army cadet force, naval cadet force and air force cadets...
It is designed to give military based training to teenagers from the age 12-18. The instructors are voluntary.

Canada holds the same program with their cadets. Cadets are mostly youths. Only at RMC (Royal Military College) and some that may remember Royal Roads, in BC, had Officer Cadets.
The Royal Canadian Army, Navy and Air Cadet leagues of Canada train youths who volunteer and wish to learn more about the forces. It also develops personal skills, such as public speaking, writing, and teaching. There are several side programs. I found, and taught the Aerospace Course for three years at 822 Sqn. before I left to join the reserves.
If you have a son/daughter that is interested, get them involved! It saddens me when I hear older cadets say "I wish I had joined sooner". You should keep all options open, and read your community newspapers/flyers.
I never want to look back on my life, twenty years from now, and ask "what if...?"!
You shouldn't have to either!
