Is it OK?

I have a couple questions. My roommate (a girl) moved in her girlfriend/partner to our apartment. Her girlfriend/partner is in the Army (I'm pretty sure Reserves) and has decided to be gay. She is currenty married to a man and wishes to stay married. The reason why she is doing this is because she told me that the army gives her extra money each month if she stays married. Is this OK to do? Is this something the army allows? Are tax payers like myself paying for this to go on? I didn't know if this was something normal or if anyone out there could fill me in on if this is an acceptable act by the army.

Not whatsoever! Your roommate's friend is perpetuating fraud by claiming to live with her husband and collecting Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) which is the stipend the government gives to it's military members for maintaining a private residence. She is not living in the location she has obviously recorded as her home of residence with her husband. She might also be committing adultery by being married and living with a girlfriend. Of course the most blantant offense is her violation of homosexuality which the UCMJ does not condone in any outward appearances and adultery which is punishable under the UCMJ as well.

Wow. That's alot. Yeah, homosexuality, adultery, and fruad are all things I have witnessed for the past 11 months. I just wasn't sure if they were and if they were violations. Should the army be aware of whats going on? Thanx!

Aunt, you should get in contact with the individual's First Sergeant or Unit Inspector General and report them. You can call the unit's information desk and tell them you want to report a fraud and explain the details. This type of individual makes it look bad on the organization and is in fact committing a crime.

I tried contacting the Army about the situation but they said they could not do anything
because of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Pursue thing. So, I tried, but it didn't do any good. Thanx for trying to help though!
